This takes place at the start of Pike’s Adventure. She and her adopted brother are preparing for the day and waiting for their father’s return home. After being offered a delicious cupcake, they check the lobster traps in the bay before being attacked by a hydra.
After a narrow escape, Pike is injured. By the time she wakes up, it is nightfall, and they return home to a gruesome sight.
